An Oven Shy of Bread

This thick and filling oatmeal is packed full of beneficial whole grains and fiber. It makes a great base for butter, nut butters, jams, or syrups; or make a warm savory grains bowl by stirring in bouillion or cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup water
- a pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp dry oatmeal (adds a chewy texture)
- 1 tbsp oat flour
- 1 tbsp ground flax seed
- 2 tsp psyllium husk powder
Instructions
- Combine 1 cup water, 1/2 cup oatmeal, and salt, and cook in the microwave.
- Stir in remaining ingredients and let sit a few minutes. Mixture will thicken.
- Add desired toppings and eat!
